Home Safety Assessments: Falls are common and they can happen at any age. According to the government of Canada, 20-30% of seniors experience one or more falls each year. Comprehensive evaluation of potential hazards inside the home including the kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, and living areas (ie poor lighting, poor accessibility & other environmental factors). A performance based home safety is conducted by observing how safe the client is when performing specific tasks and activities in their home environment (such as getting into and out of the bathtub/shower, climbing stairs, gong in and out of their house). Recommendations will be provided for both home environment modifications such as reducing tripping hazards and also for the individual such as additional supports such as the use of various assisted devices and mobility aids to improve safety.
